We Built This Because We Saw the Problem
Business Brain grew from a simple observation: Isle of Man businesses are reaching a critical point. Big enough to need documented processes, too small for dedicated resources to create and maintain them.
We kept hearing the same story. “When Sarah’s on holiday, nobody knows how to process the quarterly returns.” “Tom’s the only one who understands the compliance workflow.” “Jane left and took half our operational knowledge with her.”
The solution wasn’t another document management system that nobody uses. It was something that makes capturing knowledge as easy as answering a few questions — and makes finding it as easy as asking one.
Built by Websands
Business Brain is built by Websands, a technology company based on the Isle of Man. We’ve been building digital solutions for island businesses and understand the unique challenges of operating here.
Business Brain isn’t a generic product adapted for the island. It was conceived here, built here, and designed specifically for the way Isle of Man businesses operate — from fiduciary firms and trust companies to professional services and local enterprises.
We’re not a Silicon Valley startup. We’re your neighbours.

AI That Works For You, Not Instead of You
Business Brain uses AI to make your team’s knowledge more accessible — not to replace them. The intelligence in your business comes from your people. We just make sure it’s captured and available when anyone needs it.
Our AI interviews your staff to extract knowledge, structures documents intelligently, answers questions with sourced citations, and identifies gaps in your knowledge base. But every piece of knowledge comes from your team, and every document gets reviewed by your people before it goes live.
It’s your team’s expertise, amplified — not replaced.

Your Data, Your Way
We don’t believe in hostage data. Every document in Business Brain is stored in clean, human-readable format. You can open them in any text editor. Export everything at any time. If you ever decide to leave, your knowledge comes with you — no questions asked.
Every client gets their own dedicated instance. Your data never shares infrastructure with another business. We don’t use Gmail, Google Docs, or any third-party service that might have its own ideas about your data. The infrastructure is ours, the data is yours.
Deployment options include cloud-hosted (we manage everything), hosted on our Isle of Man servers, or on-premises within your own network. Whatever gives you the control you need.
Who Is Business Brain For?
Business Brain is designed for Isle of Man businesses that rely on people’s knowledge to operate. If your team has between 10 and 100 staff and you’ve ever worried about what happens when a key person is unavailable, this is for you.
We work particularly well with fiduciary and trust companies, professional services firms, financial services businesses, local government departments, and any organisation where regulatory knowledge and operational processes are critical to daily operations.
If the question “what happens when Sarah takes holiday?” resonates — we should talk.
